About ALUME

From a parish self-help group to a member-owned SACCO.

ALUME began in 2010 as the ACK St Luke’s Parish Men Self Help Group. It expanded to spouses, children above 18, friends, relatives, and the surrounding community before becoming a registered SACCO on 1 July 2023.

Our story

Built from participation, registered for a wider community.

In 2011, spouses and children above 18 were welcomed to join. In 2016, membership expanded further to people from the surrounding community, friends, and relatives.

In 2022, members at the AGM agreed to register as a SACCO. Today, ALUME operates independently, guided by its constitution and the Co-operative Societies framework of Kenya.
